Che cos’è la fantasia? E l’immaginazione? Quali le differenze con la creatività? Hanno più fantasia gli adulti o i bambini? E la fantasticheria, che cos’è?

What is imagination? What about imagery? What are the differences with creativity? Are children more or less imaginative than adults? And daydream, what is it?

Il FESTIVAL FANTASIOLOGICO è un'organizzazione indipendente e racconta, a un pubblico trasversale, gli aspetti e le caratteristiche della fantasia, dell’immaginazione e della creatività nella vita quotidiana e nelle discipline umanistiche, scientifiche, ludiche e artistiche.

The PHANTASIOLOGY FESTIVAL is an independent organization and tells, to a varied audience, aspects and characteristics of imagination, imagery and creativity as seen in daily life and in the various disciplines.

Dal design alla letteratura, dall’invenzione del tappo di bottiglia alla poesia, dalla musica al colore verde dei semafori, dalla zebra al pomodoro, dalla matematica al viaggio al centro della Terra, dalla linguistica al Paese delle Meraviglie, dal silenzio all’homunculus, la fantasiologia s’interessa a tutto perché fantasia, immaginazione, creatività sono imprescindibili dall’essere umano: anche se poi molte persone sono convinte che esse appartengano solo al momento della lieta spensieratezza, alla fanciullezza, alla sana evasione dal reale e non anche alle cose importanti, serie, potremmo dire.

From design to literature, from the invention of the bottle cap to poetry, from music to the green color of traffic lights, from zebra to tomato, from mathematics to travel to the center of the Earth, from linguistics to Wonderland, from silence to homunculus, phantasiology is interested in everything because imagination, imagery and creativity are essential for the human being: even if many people are convinced that they belong only to the moment of happy light-heartedness, to childhood, to the enchanting escape from reality and not also to important things, to serious things, we could say.

Fantasia, immaginazione, creatività sono parole comuni. Come lo sono sedia, libro, pappagallo, armadio. Quando le incontriamo, non ci chiediamo granché, le accogliamo con sufficiente comprensione. Ecco però una piccola meraviglia: se iniziamo a domandarci com'è fatta una sedia (immaginazione) e che cos'altro può diventare un pappagallo (fantasia), e in che modo possiamo progettare un’idea (creatività) instauriamo un rapporto non più con la consuetudine ma con l'incertezza. Il nostro sguardo sul mondo si disorienta e germoglia la curiosità e si scatena il dubbio: per la natura delle cose, per le altre persone, per noi stessi che spesso ci nascondiamo dietro le abitudini. Fantasia, creatività, immaginazione: se vissute per un'ora di svago mostrano sorprese e stupefacenze. Se praticate per la vita rivelano la loro maniera fatta di bellezze e di inquietudini.

«"Imagination", "imagery", "creativity" are common words. As are "chair", "book", "parrot", "wardrobe". When we meet them, we don't ask much, we welcome them with sufficient understanding. But here is a small wonder: if we start to wonder how a chair is made (imagery), what else can become a parrot (imagination) and how we can design an idea (creativity), we establish a relationship no longer with custom but with uncertainty. Our gaze on the world is disoriented and curiosity sprouts and doubt arises: for the nature of things, for other people, for ourselves that we often hide behind habits. Imagination, imagery, creativity: if lived for an hour of leisure, they show surprises and amazements. If you practice them for life, they reveal their way of beauties and anxieties.»
